Cisco and SailPoint Dominate NHI Market After June Acquisitions
Two major acquisitions in June 2026 have reshaped the non-human identity (NHI) security market, leaving Oasis Security as the last independent pure-play vendor. The NHI security market has seen rapid growth due to the increasing number of machine identities, with Gartner flagging it as one of the top cybersecurity trends of 2025.
The acquisitions of Astrix Security by Cisco and Entro Security by SailPoint were not coincidental timing. Both acquirers were racing to plug a hole in their existing identity and access management platforms, which were built for human employees but lacked native AI agent governance capabilities.
According to Gartner's 2025 IAM Summit, non-human identities now outnumber human identities 82:1 in the average enterprise, with ratios reaching as high as 40,000:1 in cloud-native environments. The OWASP NHI Top 10, published in 2025, highlighted key risks including secret leakage, overprivileged identities, and long-lived credentials.
Oasis Security has positioned itself as an independent, AI-agent-native NHI platform with contextual lifecycle governance. With $195M raised in funding, Oasis Security is a major player in the market, competing against Cisco's Identity Intelligence and SailPoint's Agentic Fabric.
