The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has found that Cisco, a global tech company, violated the civil rights of its Middle Eastern, Muslim, and other employees.

This decision follows complaints filed by employees in December 2024, alleging that an internal communication platform was used to spread racist and Islamophobic messages after the October 7, 2023, attack in Israel.

The abuse allegedly intensified after over 1,700 employees signed a public letter questioning Cisco's relationship with the Israeli government.

According to the complaints, some posts on the platform cheered the deaths of Palestinian civilians, described Palestinians as animals, and singled out specific employees who had advocated for Palestinian rights.
