Cisco Partners with Supermicro to Bring NVIDIA-Powered Compute to Secure AI Factory
Cisco Systems is expanding its Secure AI Factory stack to include NVIDIA-powered compute systems through a partnership with Supermicro, solidifying its position as a critical infrastructure provider for the AI era.
The pre-validated systems will combine Supermicro's high-density servers with Cisco's networking, security, and observability stack, making it easier for enterprises to deploy AI infrastructure without stitching together multiple vendors' hardware.
This collaboration brings liquid-cooled and air-cooled server designs purpose-built for NVIDIA GPUs into the Secure AI Factory platform, addressing a gap in existing solutions. By partnering with Supermicro, Cisco avoids becoming a server manufacturer itself, instead focusing on what it does best: connecting those racks, securing them, and monitoring them.
The competitive landscape is getting crowded, with Dell Technologies pushing its own AI Factory solutions with NVIDIA and HPE merging with Juniper Networks to strengthen their combined AI infrastructure play. However, Cisco positions itself as a neutral entity adaptable to different AI deployment models and architectures, including hyperscalers, on-premises solutions, or hybrid environments.
The Secure AI Factory first debuted in March 2025 at NVIDIA's GTC event, positioning Cisco's networking and security expertise as the connective tissue for AI workloads. By expanding its capabilities to include advanced edge computing and multi-agent AI functionalities, Cisco aims to provide a one-stop shop for enterprises looking to deploy AI infrastructure.
