Cisco Sets Ambitious Security Growth Targets Amid Huawei Trial
Cisco Systems Inc., the multinational technology company, has set ambitious targets for its security revenue growth and service rebound. By fiscal year (FY) 2027, the company aims to achieve high-single-digit security revenue growth, while also shifting towards a vertical stack with independent silicon by 2029.
The move is part of Cisco's efforts to return cash to shareholders through buybacks and dividends. However, the company faces challenges in its Brooklyn trial over alleged Huawei trade-secret theft, which has seen shares fall about 0.5% since the trial opened.
A recent note by Huang highlights the potential for growth in AI-network cybersecurity, but notes that Cisco must convert its stance into paid offerings to monetize this opportunity.
