Cisco Stock Surges 60% as AI Boom Fuels Demand for Networking Solutions
Cisco Systems has become one of the top-performing stocks in the Dow Jones Index this year, with its stock price jumping by 60%.
This growth is largely due to the company's role as a major provider of AI infrastructure solutions, which has become increasingly important as demand for these products has surged.
Cisco's networking solutions, such as switches and routers, have seen significant demand in data centers, while its security services business has also experienced growth, particularly after recent high-profile AI hacks at companies like Anthropic and OpenAI.
The company reported strong earnings in the fiscal third quarter, with revenue jumping 12% to $15.8 billion and operating income hitting $5.4 billion, thanks in part to a significant increase in hyperscaler orders, which are expected to reach an estimated $9 billion this year.
Analysts expect Cisco's revenue to continue growing, with estimates suggesting it will jump by 11% this year to $62 billion and nearly 10% next year to over $70 billion.
The company's earnings-per-share (EPS) is also expected to increase, from $3.81 to $4.28, driven in part by rising profit margins due to product shortages.
