Cisco Stocks Soar 60%, Topping Dow Jones Index
Cisco Systems has been the top performer in the Dow Jones Index this year, surging by 60% and beating other top companies like Caterpillar, Travelers, Chevron, and Coca-Cola. The company's stock price has jumped sharply after it became a major provider of AI infrastructure solutions.
The surge can be attributed to the ongoing AI boom, which has pushed demand for Cisco's products higher. Its networking solutions, such as switches, routers, optics, and silicon, are in high demand due to their role in data centers. Additionally, the company has become a major player in the security services industry, where demand is rising.
Cisco's recent earnings showed that its business did well in the fiscal third quarter, with revenue jumping by 12% to $15.8 billion and operating income hitting $5.4 billion. The amount of hyperscaler orders jumped from $2 billion last year to an estimated $9 billion this year.
The growth has more room to go as most hyperscalers have vowed to keep boosting their spending, with Google planning to spend over $205 billion this year and other big names in the industry planning to spend over $700 billion. Analysts are optimistic that this growth will accelerate in the next few years, with an average estimate of 11% revenue growth this year and nearly 70 billion dollars next year.
