Cisco Surges as AI Boom Drives Network Demand
Cisco Systems is leading the Dow Jones Index as its stock surges by 60% this year, outperforming other top companies such as Caterpillar and Chevron.
The company's growth can be attributed to its role in providing AI infrastructure solutions, particularly in data centers where networking solutions like switches, routers, optics, and silicon are in high demand due to the ongoing AI boom.
With hyperscaler orders jumping from $2 billion last year to an estimated $9 billion this year, Cisco's revenue is expected to grow by 12% to $15.8 billion, with its operating income hitting $5.4 billion in the fiscal third quarter.
The company's margins are also rising due to supply constraints, leading to an expected jump in earnings per share from $3.81 to $4.28.
