Cisco Warns of Widespread AI-Enabled Cyber Threat

Cisco's President and Chief Product Officer Jeetu Patel spoke about the growing threat of AI-enabled cyberattacks, warning that they could become more widespread and sophisticated. In an open letter signed by Cisco, OpenAI, Anthropic, and others, the companies expressed their concern that the same tools used to improve efficiency can also be exploited by malicious actors.

Patel stated that these attacks are likely to increase in scale as the tools used to help people work more efficiently are also being utilized by bad actors. He emphasized the importance of taking proactive measures to defend against AI-powered threats.
