Ciscomani Noncommittal on Trump's $5,000 Check Plan
Tucson Republican Rep. Juan Ciscomani declined to commit to supporting President Donald Trump's proposal to send every adult in the country a $5,000 check from taxpayer money, saying he needs more details on how it would work.
Ciscomani made this statement after his televised debate with Democratic challenger JoAnna Mendoza Thursday night. The proposal, announced by Trump at a Republican convention in Dallas Wednesday, has been estimated to cost around $1.3 trillion.
Mendoza strongly criticized the plan, calling it 'absolutely egregious.'
