Cisco's Employees Arrested by ICE at Austin Restaurant
Two long-standing employees of Cisco's in Austin were arrested and detained by ICE agents on Monday. Ramon Avilez-Frias and Maria Del Pilar Moreno-Loredo were taken into custody after a traffic stop involving Texas Department of Public Safety officials.
The incident occurred at 6 a.m. when the workers were parked outside the restaurant. Agents detained them because they lacked lawful immigration status, according to Cisco's statement.
An online fundraiser has been set up for Avilez-Frias and Moreno-Loredo, which had raised $1,885 of its $9,000 goal by Tuesday afternoon.
