Citadel Adjusts AI Bets with Big Trades on Nvidia and Amazon
Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin has adjusted his artificial intelligence (AI) bets by buying more shares in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft, while selling significant amounts of Nvidia, Broadcom, and Micron Technology.
According to a recent Form 13F filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Citadel sold approximately 6.8 million shares of Nvidia stock, reducing its exposure by 36%, as well as nearly 11% of its Broadcom stock (356,000 shares) and 4 million shares of Micron Technology.
In contrast, Griffin increased his position in Amazon and Microsoft, which are both top five holdings in Citadel's portfolio. Amazon's AI investments have paid off with the company recording its fastest growth in more than four years, while AWS generated $16.6 billion in operating income, up from $10.2 billion a year ago.
Micorsoft has also made significant strides in the AI space, reporting $19.6 billion in free cash flow in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 and projecting to remain free cash flow positive in fiscal 2027.
