Cleveland Clinic Researchers Advance to Finals with Quantum Computing Breakthrough
A team of researchers from Cleveland Clinic, RIKEN, and IBM has advanced to the finals for the 2026 ACM Gordon Bell Prize. The prize is awarded annually to recognize outstanding achievements in high-performance computing.
The team's achievement was made possible by their use of quantum computers to simulate a protein consisting of 12,635 atoms, making it the largest-known simulated protein using this technology.
