Cloud and AI Democratize Capabilities for Indian Businesses: Salesforce CEO
Salesforce CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya says that cloud and AI technologies are democratizing capabilities for Indian businesses, allowing them to access advanced intelligence and global markets previously unimaginable.
The former SBI chairperson believes India has the opportunity not just to participate in the technology revolution but to leapfrog through it. Cloud and AI can enable smaller companies to compete with larger corporations by providing access to analytics, customer personalization, and other capabilities that require significant capital investment.
Bhattacharya emphasizes that Indian businesses must transform using technology, moving beyond mere digitization, and focus on enabling people to do new types of work. She suggests three priorities for organizations: getting their data house in order, redesigning the work and not just technology, and moving from pilots to actual skill.
The CEO also highlights the economic impact of AI adoption, stating that accelerated adoption could add USD 500-600 billion to India's GDP by 2035. She notes that AI will create more jobs as it fulfills demands that businesses currently cannot meet due to bandwidth limitations.
