Cloud and AI Democratize Capabilities for Indian Businesses
Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO of Salesforce for South Asia and former SBI Chairperson, stated that cloud and AI are democratizing capabilities for Indian businesses. She emphasized that this allows smaller companies to access intelligence, analytics, customer personalization, and global markets at an unprecedented scale.
Bhattacharya believes India has the opportunity not just to participate in this technology revolution but to leapfrog through it. She highlighted that accelerated AI adoption could add $500-600 billion to India's GDP by 2035, with substantial opportunities in manufacturing and financial services.
The current digital revolution is driven by artificial intelligence, which Indian businesses must transform using technology beyond mere digitization. Bhattacharya urged organizations to focus on enabling people to do new types of work rather than just automating existing tasks.
She also emphasized the importance of getting data in order, redesigning work processes, and moving from pilots to actual skill development for every organization. Bhattacharya stressed that AI will not replace jobs but create more by fulfilling demands that businesses currently cannot meet due to bandwidth limitations.
