Coca-Cola Accelerates Innovation Push with New Brands and Flavors
Coca-Cola is set to accelerate its pace of innovation in the UK market this year. The drinks giant has launched a £10m ad campaign for Diet Coke's packaging refresh and two new flavors, Exotic Mango and Feisty Cherry. This marks the beginning of a wave of new brands and flavors that will be rolled out throughout 2018.
The company's marketing director, Aedamar Howlett, stated that growth in the last year was driven by innovations such as Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, which saw sales grow by 41% last year. The brand owner has also relaunched Fanta and Schweppes, with a new premium sub-brand for Schweppes.
Coca-Cola plans to introduce two new brands to the UK market: Latin American dairy-free smoothie brand Adez will launch next month, while Honest will get a third sub-brand, Honest Coffee. However, Coca-Cola has run into a legal dispute with Plymouth-based company Honest Coffees over the name.
