Coca-Cola and Arca Continental Lindley Commit $1 Billion to Peru Expansion
Coca-Cola Peru and its bottler Arca Continental Lindley have announced plans to invest $1 billion over five years in Peru, aiming to expand and modernize their infrastructure. The investment is a testament to the companies' confidence in the Peruvian market.
The announcement was made during a visit by President Keiko Fujimori to the company's plant in Pucusana, south of Lima. Arca Continental Lindley's CEO, Enrique Pérez Barba, stated that this investment reaffirms their long-term commitment to Peru.
In addition to expanding infrastructure, the companies will support initiatives to mitigate the effects of the 'Coastal El Niño' phenomenon, which has affected communities in the region. They have pledged to provide two million liters of water and 150,000 blankets made from recycled PET bottles to families in need.
The companies will also build a drinking water and sewage infrastructure for over 31,000 residents of Pucusana, a project valued at 291 million soles (approximately $74.5 million). This investment is part of the companies' efforts to drive profitable and sustainable growth that benefits local communities.
