Coca-Cola Can Personalisation Tool Accused of Rejecting 'Jesus is King'
Coca-Cola is facing renewed calls for a boycott from Christian consumers after viral videos appeared to show its US online can personalisation tool rejecting the phrase 'Jesus is King' while accepting 'Satan is King'.
Content creator Ryan Haff posted screen recordings of live tests on the Coca-Cola Store website, showing the system blocking Christian phrases such as 'Jesus is king', 'Jesus is good', and 'I love Jesus', while allowing Satanic wording like 'Satan is King', 'Satan is good', and 'I hate Jesus' to appear on a digital can mock-up.
A previous fact check in October 2024 by Reuters found that the tool rejected phrases like 'Jesus loves you' and 'Allah loves you', but allowed 'God is Dead' and 'Atheist Pride' to pass through. Coca-Cola stated at the time that certain religious names and phrases had been designated for denial.
Christian users took to X, sharing screen recordings and announcing plans to avoid Coca-Cola products, with some calling for a boycott of related brands such as Diet Coke, Sprite, and Dasani.
