Coca-Cola Cans Controversy: Alleged Censorship of Christian Phrases
Coca-Cola's can personalization tool has come under fire for allegedly censoring Christian phrases while allowing Satanic and Muslim ones. The company's system rejected sayings such as 'Jesus is King' and 'Jesus is good,' but permitted phrases like 'Satan is King' and 'Allah is good.' An online user tested the claims in several viral videos, drafting various sayings live on camera.
The user found that the system banned positive Christian phrases like 'Jesus is good' but allowed negative ones, such as 'Jesus is bad' and 'Jesus is evil.' The system also permitted 'I hate Jesus,' while banning 'I love Jesus.' Additionally, it allowed 'pedophile pride,' 'satanic pride,' and 'Republicans suck,' while blocking 'white pride,' 'black pride' in a recent update, and 'Democrats suck.'
By Monday afternoon, Coca-Cola had removed its personalization tool from its website, citing that the cans were out of stock. The company had not yet released a statement regarding the claims, although they referred to the issue as a technical problem.
