Coca-Cola Celebrates 75 Years in Nigeria with Community Development Initiatives
Coca-Cola has marked its 75th year of operations in Nigeria, highlighting its contributions to job creation, entrepreneurship, recycling, and community-based economic opportunities across the country.
The company's activities in Nigeria now extend beyond beverage production to include programmes designed to support livelihoods, strengthen local businesses, and promote environmental sustainability. One such intervention is the Strengthening Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme, through which Coca-Cola rehabilitated boreholes and handwashing facilities across six communities in Maiduguri.
This initiative has provided more than 16,000 people with access to safer water. The project also created opportunities for local women to work as hygiene promoters, while young people received training as maintenance artisans.
