Coca-Cola Charts New Course with Digital Focus
The Coca-Cola Company presented its growth strategy at the Barclays 19th Annual Global Consumer Conference. New CEO Henrique Braun emphasized the importance of digital transformation, innovation, and staying close to consumers.
Braun pointed out that the company is navigating an uneven consumer backdrop but has made progress in volume, pricing, innovation, and digital execution. He highlighted three key ideas for the next chapter: embedding digital across the business, staying closer to consumers, and maintaining a culture of constructive discontent.
The company aims for balanced growth over time, with both volume and price mix contributing together, even if quarterly results vary. Digital is being treated as a company-wide capability, not a separate business, with AI, QR codes, and first-party data at the center. Braun said that India and other developing markets remain long-term opportunities that require patience and strong fundamentals.
Operational updates showed the company's focus on innovation and digital transformation. Braun presented several recent product moves as examples of its approach, which includes insights-first research, intimacy by market, and integration with digital platforms. The company also highlighted its use of local market knowledge to shape its portfolio, citing India as a key example.
Looking ahead, Braun said that Coca-Cola will evolve through better execution of existing strengths rather than completely transforming itself. He outlined several priorities for the next three to five years, including deeper digital integration, a stronger culture of constructive discontent, and continued balancing of premium products with value offerings.
