Coca-Cola Exec Slams Red Flag Plan for Sugary Foods

Coca-Cola India executive Mili Bhattacharya has expressed her opposition to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India's (FSSAI) plan to mandate red flags for consumables with high fat/sugar content.

Bhattacharya argued that such labels would be 'pointless' as Indian doctors have done a good job teaching patients which foods to avoid, according to Reuters.

The FSSAI had planned to implement the labeling system but dropped it after several other Big Food executives opposed the plan, including Bhattacharya's comments.
