Coca-Cola FEMSA Hits Water-Efficiency Target, Secures Unchanged Bond Rates
Coca-Cola FEMSA has reached its water-efficiency target for sustainability-linked bonds, securing unchanged interest rates. The company achieved a water use efficiency ratio of 1.26 liters per liter of beverage produced as of September 3, 2026. This milestone crowns a strategy that saw Coca-Cola FEMSA invest over $82 million since 2022 in process improvements and technology to reduce its Water Use Ratio.
The August 2026 result represents more than a 20% improvement versus the company's 2018 baseline, solidifying its leadership in water efficiency within the beverage industry. The external independent verifier confirmed compliance with the sustainability performance target tied to the KOF 21L bonds.
Coca-Cola FEMSA operates across Latin America, serving over 268 million consumers through more than 2.1 million points of sale. With a strong sustainability profile in global equity benchmarks, the company emphasizes generating economic, social, and environmental value across its value chain.
