Coca-Cola Foundation's Maidaan Saaf Initiative Boosts Waste Management at Pandharpur Wari
The Coca-Cola India Foundation's Anandana initiative, Maidaan Saaf, was implemented at the Pandharpur Ashadhi Wari 2026 in Maharashtra, one of the state's prominent annual pilgrimages.
In collaboration with Econscious, Ecodeco, The Recycle Home Private Limited, Lakshya, and bottler HCCB, the initiative supported public infrastructure made from recycled plastic along the pilgrimage route.
The installations included 20 women-friendly changing rooms with illustrated walls promoting responsible waste management, two police watch towers for crowd control, nearly 2,000 waste bags for plastic collection, and 1,000 raincoats distributed to volunteers and police personnel.
Additional waste collection infrastructure was also deployed across key locations to encourage responsible waste disposal during the pilgrimage.
