Coca-Cola HBC Boosts Profit Outlook After Strong First Half
Coca-Cola HBC, a Switzerland-based Coca-Cola bottler, has upgraded its profit outlook for 2026 after a strong first half. The company's comparable operating profit reached €760.1 million for the six months ended July 3rd, exceeding analyst estimates of €731.1 million. This success is partly due to World Cup-related sales, which boosted volumes and mix through limited-edition packs and promotions.
The company is leaning on pricing, hedging, and procurement moves to smooth out volatile input costs such as sugar, aluminum, fuel, corn, and plastics. It's also planning to close its acquisition of an African bottling business in the second half, which will add another lever for growth but pose integration challenges.
Coca-Cola HBC's upgraded outlook from 7% to 8%-10% organic operating profit growth has sent a signal to investors that the company sees fewer ways results could disappoint. This reduced uncertainty has led analysts to nudge up forward profit forecasts and justify a smaller 'risk discount' in the share price.
