Coca-Cola HBC Gets Green Light for Sub-Saharan Bottling Deal
Coca-Cola HBC has received approval for its proposed acquisition of 75% of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, but the Competition Tribunal has imposed certain conditions.
The Swiss group will now take control of the bottling and distribution business in sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa. The acquisition was first announced in March this year.
The Competition Tribunal has approved the deal, subject to several concessions from Coca-Cola HBC. These include a commitment to maintain the current manufacturing capacity in South Africa and to preserve jobs in the region.
