Coca-Cola Impersonated in Suspected Email Scam
A suspicious email claiming to be from The Coca-Cola Company has been circulating. Blue Book Services discovered that a produce shipper received an email from someone identifying themselves as Henrique Braun, EVP & President, International & New Business Development at Coca-Cola.
The email requested the purchase of a full truckload of 48-count medium avocados, but there were several red flags. The email domain h.braun@coca-colahq.com was not legitimate, and when Blue Book called the listed phone number (404) 666-9998, it was answered by an automated system that didn't mention Coca-Cola or the individual in the solicitation.
Blue Book warns that fraudsters often use fake company names, executive identities, addresses, and professional-looking signatures to appear credible. Before shipping products or extending credit, verify the company's legitimacy through Blue Book Verify.
