Coca-Cola Invests $106M in Alexandria Warehouse Expansion
Coca-Cola UNITED is investing $106 million to expand its warehouse operations in Alexandria, Louisiana. The project will create 50 new direct jobs and an additional 84 indirect jobs in the region.
A new 300,000-square-foot warehouse will be built, featuring an advanced automated system called the vertique system. This technology is designed to create a more efficient work environment and reduce physical strain on associates.
The expansion will be completed by fall 2028, with construction set to begin in February 2027. The new facility will be built adjacent to the current Coca-Cola distribution center at 7400 Coliseum Blvd.
Coca-Cola UNITED Vice President Scott McCallister stated that the vertique system is a state-of-the-art technology that will enhance productivity and reduce labor costs. He emphasized that no jobs will be eliminated due to automation, but rather new positions with higher skill levels will be created.
