Coca-Cola Partners with Municipalities in Davao del Sur to Enhance Waste Management and Recycling Efforts

Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP) has partnered with the Municipalities of Sulop and Matanao in Davao del Sur to enhance local waste management and recycling efforts.

The partnership was formalized during a ceremony, where CCEAP provided baling machines to each municipality through its Tapon to Ipon program. This will help improve the collection, storage, and transport of clear PET plastic bottles for recycling.

Coca-Cola believes that access to efficient waste management infrastructure plays an important role in accelerating local circular economy objectives.

The company's VP for Corporate & Regulatory Affairs, Atty. Juan Lorenzo Tañada, said: 'With the support of a baling machine, we hope to support more communities with the tools needed to optimize collection and recycling capabilities.'

CCEAP has been working with local governments across the Davao region to advance PET bottle recovery and recycling, including partnering with the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur in 2023 to help clear large-scale stockpiles of PET bottles.
