Coca-Cola Plant Hit in Kyiv as Russia Targets Global Brands
A Coca-Cola plant near Kyiv has been hit by Russian forces in what appears to be a deliberate attack. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russians targeted the facility with a drone.
The fire that broke out on the premises of Velyka Dymerka's Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine Limited plant has sparked concerns about global supply chains and prices. The company produces Fanta, Sprite, Schweppes, Rich juice, Fuze Tea (Nestea), and BonAqua mineral water.
The incident is not the first time the facility has been attacked; in early March 2022, it came under Russian fire, with the cogeneration plant being destroyed. The President's statement suggests that Russia may be targeting American companies, as Coca-Cola is an American brand.
