Coca-Cola Refuses to Chase 'Irrational' Pricing in India Amid Campa Cola Challenge
Coca-Cola's CEO Henrique Braun says the company won't overreact to its rivals' pricing strategies in India. Braun made this statement at the Barclays Global Consumer Staples Conference, where he acknowledged that Reliance's Campa Cola has become a significant challenger in the market.
Campa Cola emerged as the country's fourth-largest carbonated soft drinks brand in FY26, with gross sales of over ₹4,700 crore. Braun emphasized that aggressive pricing and short-term swings in market share are part of operating in a developing market.
Rather than reacting to rivals' moves, Coca-Cola will focus on fundamentals like packaging architecture, brands, and revenue-growth management. Braun noted that markets with mastered these fundamentals are more resilient to headwinds.
