According to data collected by Power Brands, Coca-Cola is the most popular soda in 14 states, including Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia, where it's also headquartered. This dominance may not come as a surprise, given that Coke has been a staple of American culture for decades.

The remaining 36 states prefer other brands, with Dr Pepper being the favorite in nine states, including Oklahoma and Utah. Sprite is preferred by six states, including Illinois and Michigan, while Pepsi fans can be found in five states, including New York and Pennsylvania. Mountain Dew has a strong following in four states, including Maine and North Carolina.
