Coca-Cola Revives Diet Cherry Coke Flavor After Five-Year Absence
Coca-Cola is reviving its Diet Cherry Coke flavor after a five-year absence from most U.S. shelves. The original cherry-flavored soda was introduced in 1986, but it disappeared from stores in 2020.
The comeback of Diet Cherry Coke comes alongside the launch of Coca-Cola Cherry Float, which combines cherry and vanilla flavors. This new product will be available in both full-sugar and zero-sugar versions.
A limited test run of retro-packaged Diet Cherry Coke in late 2025 was a success, prompting the company to make the flavor permanent. The soda will return nationwide across the U.S. and Canada in February 2026, with refreshed cherry-themed branding on 12-ounce 12-packs and 20-ounce bottles.
