Coca-Cola Surpasses Expectations as PepsiCo Faces North America Challenges
Coca-Cola (KO) and PepsiCo (PEP) are two of the world's largest beverage companies, but their latest quarterly results show a widening gap between their operating outlooks.
Coca-Cola reported an impressive second-quarter performance with net revenue increasing 7% year-over-year to $13.37 billion, surpassing Q2 estimates of $13.05 billion and achieving organic revenues growth of 6%. The company's adjusted net income was $4.18 billion, translating to earnings of $0.97 per share, a 11% YoY increase and ahead of EPS expectations.
The Coca-Cola Company also raised its full-year guidance, projecting 5% organic revenue growth for the year and 9%-10% adjusted EPS growth, up from its previous forecast of 8%-9%. This upward revision is significant given the uncertain global consumer environment.
