U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Alabama, visited the new Coca-Cola UNITED Corporate Headquarters and Birmingham Sales Center on Tuesday. The facility, which was unveiled last week in Kingston, will employ a total of 800 Jefferson County residents when it reaches full production.

According to company officials, the new facility's operations will support 11 counties. Sewell praised the company for its commitment to excellence, community, and Birmingham during her tour.

'I think the common thing is a commitment to excellence, a commitment to community and a commitment to Birmingham,' Sewell said.

The company plans to start operations at the new bottling facility and corporate headquarters on Monday.
