Coca-Cola UNITED Expands in Birmingham with $350M Campus
Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED has begun operations at its new $350 million campus in Birmingham, Alabama. The facility occupies approximately 100 acres of a former industrial site that had remained underused following the closure of Stockham Valves and Fittings.
The project represents an investment of around $20 million more than originally announced, with the total now standing at $350 million. Operations at the new facility began on September 14, marking the latest stage in a major investment that will bring Coca-Cola UNITED's production and distribution operations together under one roof.
The campus is expected to create up to 50 new jobs while retaining more than 750 existing positions, strengthening Coca-Cola UNITED's manufacturing and distribution footprint in the region. The project also forms part of a wider expansion of food and beverage manufacturing across the Birmingham region, with over $1 billion in capital investment announced by 20 companies over the past five years.
