Coca-Cola Veteran Brian Dyson Passes Away at 90
Brian Dyson, a former executive at Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Enterprises, has passed away at the age of 90. During his career, he led the launch of several iconic products, including Cherry Coke in 1985.
In a commencement speech at Georgia Tech in 1991, Dyson told students to strive for balance in their lives by juggling five 'balls': work, family, health, friends, and spirit. He explained that work was a 'rubber ball,' but the other four were made of glass.
Dyson predicted that Diet Coke would cannibalize other soft drinks when it launched in 1982. As he anticipated, Diet Coke quickly dominated the diet-soda category.
