Coca-Cola Veteran Stephen Allan Rich Passes Away at 84
Stephen Allan Rich, a successful 30-year veteran of The Coca-Cola Company, has passed away at the age of 84. He died peacefully at home on August 19th after battling health issues for some time.
Rich was known for his genuine interest in people and their stories, making everyone feel good about themselves. He was also an avid collector, with a passion for UNC and Coca-Cola memorabilia, as well as other eclectic items like 'taste de vin' from Paris and stamps.
A dedicated member of the Chapel Hill community, Rich served on several boards, including Hillel, Tau Epsilon Phi, NC Botanical Garden, Preservation Chapel Hill, the former Chapel Hill Museum, and the UNC Center for Public Service. He also established a fund for Jewish Studies at Wilson Library UNC-Chapel Hill.
Rich took immense pride in his career and continued to be involved with The Coca-Cola Company after retiring at 56. In retirement, he and his wife Sandra traveled extensively, volunteered at the Coker Arboretum, and supported various charitable causes.
