Coca-Cola's Custom Can Moderation Rules Exposed as Inconsistent

A recent investigation by Fox News Digital has uncovered an inconsistent system of moderation rules used by Coca-Cola's personalized can customization platform.

The probe found that mainstream religious phrases, such as 'Jesus is Lord', and patriotic or right-leaning slogans like 'Make America Great' are blocked, while left-wing activism and even terms associated with child exploitation are permitted.

Rather than an outright ban on certain words, the platform uses a character limit of 18 characters or less to determine which phrases are allowed. However, this has been exploited by users to bypass the system's security rules.

A Coca-Cola spokesperson acknowledged the technical issue and stated that the company is working to address it. The online customization tool has been disabled, and new personalized product orders have been paused while moderation reviews are conducted.
