Coco Ride Coming to Disneyland: New Storyline and State-of-the-Art Animatronics
A new theme park ride based on Disney's Pixar hit film Coco is currently under construction at Disneyland in California. The ride, which will be located in a new building between Incredicoaster and Paradise Garden Grill, promises to take guests on a journey through the Land of the Dead.
Concept art released by Disney shows that the ride will feature state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics characters inspired by classics like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. The ride's storyline is said to pick up after the events of the film, with Miguel returning to the Land of the Dead and a new story unfolding.
A maquette of the Héctor Rivera statue that will greet guests outside the attraction has been on display at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The inscription on the statue reads '¡Su familia era su mundo!' which translates to 'His family was his world!'
