Colandrea Lands Maxwell Award Watch List Spot
Nebraska quarterback Anthony Colandrea has been named to the prestigious Maxwell Award watch list. The award, given annually since 1937, recognizes the college football player of the year. Colandrea, a transfer from UNLV, was honored as Mountain West Player of the Year last season.
In his three-year career, he has thrown for 7,542 yards and 49 touchdowns while rushing for 12 more scores. The Maxwell Award semifinalists will be announced on November 10, 2026, with the finalists unveiled on November 24, 2026. The winner will be revealed at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 10, 2026.
Colandrea is one of 81 players on the initial watch list, which includes 17 from the Big Ten conference. The formal presentations of the Maxwell Award will take place at the Maxwell Football Club Awards on March 13, 2027, in Atlanta, Georgia.
