Color Trends Shift Towards Bolder, More Adventurous Hues
As we approach 2027, experts in interior design and color marketing are predicting a shift towards more saturated and nuanced tones. According to Noe DeWitt for VERANDA, people are craving a more personal connection with the colors they surround themselves with, leading to a desire for bolder and more adventurous hues.
The 2027 paint color trends forecasted by experts include earthen oranges, mossy greens, complex blues, mature yellows, warm pastels, periwinkle, and wine-inspired reds. These colors are inspired by natural pigments, flora, and minerals, and offer a fresh take on traditional interior design.
Emily Kantz, color marketing manager at Sherwin-Williams, notes that people are finally leaning in and asking themselves, 'Why can't I just switch things up or do something that's just fun and off the wall?' The desire for more adventurous colors is reflected in the emergence of earthy tones like Deep Rooted, Dutch Boy's 2027 Color of the Year.
