Congressman Buys Apple Stock Ahead of Tim Cook's Exit
Rep. Cleo Fields (D-La.) has been one of the most active members of Congress in buying and selling stocks, according to recent data.
A filing tracked by the Benzinga Government Trades page shows that Fields recently bought between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock on August 13, just weeks before long-time CEO Tim Cook stepped down and new CEO John Ternus took over.
This purchase is not an isolated incident; Fields has bought over $1 million in AAPL stock since 2025, with three purchases made in 2026 and 19 purchases made in 2025.
Fields' recent trade may signal continued faith in Apple, even without Cook at the helm. In fact, he hasn't sold any of his AAPL stock over the past two years.
