Copilot Joins CarPlay Roster, Leaving Gemini as Last Holdout

Microsoft's Copilot AI chatbot app has joined Apple CarPlay, allowing iPhone users to interact with the app while driving.

This addition leaves Google Gemini as the last major holdout in the space. The others are Siri AI, OpenAI's ChatGPT, Perplexity, SpaceXAI's Grok, Meta AI, and Anthropic's Claude.

Copilot requires a subscription to work with CarPlay and mirrors chat history from the iPhone app, including text-based threads.

Apple will also introduce a dedicated Siri AI app as part of iOS 27, which is set for release on Monday. This new feature will be rolled out in waves, even though it's still in beta.
