Copilot Takes On More Responsibility in Microsoft's Wave 3 Update
Microsoft is pushing forward with its Copilot Wave 3 update, which aims to make AI-powered tools more integrated into daily workflows. Unlike earlier versions that focused on assisting users, this wave shifts the focus to making Copilot take on more responsibility within tasks.
The new feature allows users to create their own AI agents inside Microsoft 365, which can manage repetitive processes and follow set rules without needing constant input. This opens up possibilities for automating routine admin, document organization, or supporting internal processes.
Copilot's chat experience has also become more capable, enabling users to make changes directly from a conversation without jumping between screens. The introduction of 'Work IQ' aims to help Copilot understand the business context better by using data, communication patterns, and internal content.
Microsoft is expanding its underlying AI models, bringing in technology from different providers, which should make the system more flexible and capable over time. Another feature being tested, 'Copilot coworker', takes the idea of AI agents further by allowing them to carry out longer processes rather than just responding to a single request.
