CoreWeave Stakes Its Claim as Top AI Cloud Provider
CoreWeave, a leading provider of cloud infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI), made a strong case for its future prospects at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026. The company's CEO, Mike Incharro, emphasized that CoreWeave's edge lies in designing infrastructure specifically for AI and parallelized computing, rather than retrofitting older systems.
Incharro compared this approach to building a high-performance sports car versus a family minivan, highlighting the importance of performance-first design. He noted that CoreWeave has made thousands of small design choices to optimize performance for AI workloads, resulting in leading GPU training performance, according to third-party data and customer feedback.
The company sees strong demand for its services, but also faces rising regulatory pressure, intense competition, and a market that may consolidate as more players enter the space. CoreWeave is expanding into self-built data centers, software, and international power capacity to gain more control over its platform.
Incharro pointed to Caterpillar as an example of a large enterprise building dedicated AI infrastructure with CoreWeave, highlighting the growing interest from enterprises that want more control, better performance, and lower costs than traditional hyperscalers can provide. The company's revenue reached $7.6 billion over the last twelve months, growing 115% year-over-year, while maintaining a gross profit margin of 67%.
