Cornerstone Capital Puts Its Bet on Goldman Sachs
Cornerstone Capital Inc., an investment management firm, has purchased a new stake in shares of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS) in the second quarter. According to Cornerstone's most recent 13F filing with the SEC, the fund acquired 31,729 shares of Goldman Sachs stock valued at approximately $32,090,000. This acquisition represents about 2.9% of Cornerstone Capital Inc.'s investment portfolio and makes The Goldman Sachs Group its 11th biggest position.
Cornerstone is not alone in its recent investments in Goldman Sachs. Other institutional investors have also bought or increased their stakes in the company. Turim 21 Investimentos Ltda., for example, acquired a new position in shares of The Goldman Sachs Group during the first quarter worth about $25,000. Manning & Napier Advisors LLC raised its holdings in shares of Goldman Sachs by 287.5% in the fourth quarter.
The recent investments in Goldman Sachs are part of the company's broader efforts to expand its asset management platform. In addition to acquiring new stakes, Goldman Sachs has also made significant strides in diversifying its revenue streams through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. The company recently agreed to acquire real-estate investment manager LCN Capital Partners for up to $410 million, including $260 million upfront and as much as $150 million in performance-based consideration.
