Corvallis Man Arrested After Shots Fired Near Home Depot
On August 20th, shots were fired in Corvallis, Oregon, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement. The Corvallis Police Department (CPD) received multiple reports of gunshots around 11:37 a.m. near the Home Depot store on Northeast Four Acre Place.
A witness provided officers with a description of the suspect, which they used to quickly set up a safety perimeter and begin searching the area. The Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search, deploying a canine team and drone unit to aid in the investigation.
After a nearly 1-hour search, police apprehended 21-year-old Alejandro Aguilar Oseguera of Corvallis at 12:29 p.m. He was arrested for criminal trespass, unlawful use of a weapon, and littering. The CPD stated that they do not believe the suspect was shooting at a specific person.
The incident has been resolved, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The Corvallis Police Department thanked the Benton County Sheriff's Office for their assistance and praised the witnesses who provided crucial information during the search.
