Cozying Up a Tiny Brooklyn Kitchen for Under $300

A tiny Brooklyn kitchen measuring just 10 square feet was transformed into a cozy Parisian-style nook for under $300. The owner, Sarah Ingle, had previously referred to the space as a 'chaotic corner' due to its mismatched shelving and cabinetry.

Realizing that enlarging the room wasn't feasible, Sarah decided to lean into its coziness by creating a unique atmosphere. She chose Sherwin-Williams' 'Crabby Apple' for the walls and 'French Roast' for the ceiling, aiming for a moodier, bolder look.

The project involved removing old shelving, power-sanding, filling holes, and caulk-ing the walls to prepare them for painting. Three coats later, the room achieved its desired moody effect.

A wraparound shelf was installed for storage, displaying both kitchenware and sentimental items. Additional touches included a custom sink skirt and vintage cutting board used to hang towels.
