Credit Card Bonuses: Which Offers Best Reward for Your Needs
The abundance of limited-time credit card bonuses has left many consumers wondering which one is right for them.
According to CNBC Select interim director Emily Canal, she wants to earn cash back and prefers rewards on groceries and gas.
The Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card currently offers a $250 cash back after spending $500 in the first three months from account opening. This is an all-time high, limited-time offer that earns uncapped 3% cash back at grocery stores (excluding Target and Walmart) but only 1% on gas purchases.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card offers a better fit for those who can qualify for its larger spending requirement of $5,000 in the first three months. It earns 100,000 bonus points after spending $5,000, redeemable for at least $1,000 in cash back, travel or gift cards.
The Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express and Blue Cash Everyday Card also earn bonus cash back at U.S. supermarkets and gas stations but have annual caps on their best bonus categories.
