Criminal Creator Ed Brubaker Hit with Lawsuit Over Alleged Sexual Assault
Ed Brubaker, creator and co-showrunner of Amazon's upcoming crime series Criminal, is facing a lawsuit over alleged sexual assault. The show, starring Charlie Hunnam, was based on the comic book series that Brubaker previously wrote.
The lawsuit, filed by former production assistant Ijaaz Noohu, alleges that Brubaker engaged in 'repeated and pervasive' sexual harassment on set, including making jokes about rape and running his hands through Noohu's hair. The suit also claims that Brubaker made demeaning stereotypes and asked Noohu if he supported the terrorist organization Hamas.
Noohu was hired as a production assistant in February 2023 and eventually left the show after being banned from set for challenging alleged misconduct. He is not included in the credits for the series.
